Things are never simple, are they?

I stopped at the local dentist's office on Tuesday and asked when was the soonest I could get an appointment. They told me they could see me on Thursday. If I'd been smart, I would have asked "Which Thursday?" Instead, I assumed the lack of qualifier meant today, and got all packed up and rode down here with Brian this morning, only to find a sign on the door saying they were closed and (once I dug out the appointment card) that my appointment is scheduled for the 17th. Sigh.
I'm honestly not sure what I want to do. Driving out to SV is hardly my first choice, especially with the price of gas what it is (and the cheaper-to-run car in questionable condition), but neither is having a gaping hole in my back molar for two more weeks. Even if it wouldn't progress much farther decay-wise, constantly catching the side of my tongue on the sharp edge isn't exactly what I'd call "fun". But then, I also need to see an eye doctor and I don't think we even have one of those locally, so maybe I should see if I can just get two appointments on the same day.
On another note, The Rebel Bartender is "popular" enough for me to have discovered a new type of spam - bogus incoming links. The less-creative ones just use URL shorteners in hopes that you'll click through to see who linked to you, but there are also cleverer ones that combine that with the "bogus news headline" trick - for instance, a bit.ly URL appended with "facebook-owner-died-today" or "justin-timberlake-car-crash". Oh well. At least the bogus hits are keeping my daily hit count up above 20, which keeps my bar chart from looking too depressing.
Ah well. While I'm here, I might as well stop at the post office - my order should be here from Bath & Body Works. Yay for Groupon and getting nice candles at a discount!
