Oh. Wow. It's finally happened.

Someone's really, actually, honest-to-blog, going and bottling New York's tap water to sell.
Proving that entrepreneurial spirit (and human gullibility*) don't end, even in a recession.
I'd make some snarky comment here about how I was going to unveil my new DVD Rewinder (It spins! It whirs! Stupid people buy them!), but someone's already done that, too.
Satire's just dead, isn't it?
*To be fair, it's not quite as crazy as it sounds - New York apparently has a fantastic water supply, and lots of people just want the convenience of bottled water and don't care much where it comes from - and hey, TAP'D NY is cheaper and emits less carbon to get to the store! Still, I'm honestly curious whether it would work as a saleable product if it weren't coming on the heels of a decade-plus of conditioning people to buy bottled water by purporting its supposed health benefits over regular tap water.
Also, hasn't anyone looked at that and gone, "I could buy a Nalgene bottle and fill it at the tap for cheaper?"

Where I have issue with is tiny inefficient bottles that get tossed and to some degree designer water.
