missroseroseWas driving out to see Juneau-Brian for lunch earlier today when a couple of very large plow trucks went by. I didn't think anything of it at first, but a moment later I heard a very loud THUD. I thought a rock or something had hit my roof, but everything seemed all right, so I continued on to his house. When I got there and went to look, however, my entire rear windshield crumpled inward.
Well, I called the state, and after getting redirected about six times finally found the right person to talk to. She said that I should get a couple of quotes from dealers here in town and she'd see about verifying that there were, in fact, crews working in the area at that time and whatnot. So I'm going to call her back tomorrow with the quotes I got ($680 and $556). Meantime, I've got to figure out some option aside from plastic bags and duct tape - the snow all over everything means the duct tape won't stick, so when I tried it, I ended up with half my makeshift windscreen flapping behind me.
I really hope the state pays for this, because there's no way in hell I've got the $600. Not with an apartment deposit to save for.
And to top it all off, the tip of my finger won't stop bleeding where I cut it on the glass...
