missroseroseHad a bit of an adventure last night involving my car, Peter, Thelonius-Brian, a shovel and a metric assload of rock salt. Fortunately, with their help, I was able to both excavate my car from the snow drifted all around it *and* get it out of the parking space. Mass thanks to both of them for their help, and to Thelonius-Brian for the rock-salt idea. Unfortunately, Juneau-Brian was too tired to make it to our first ballroom dance class, which was rather disappointing. Given that he's been literally shoveling snow all freaking week (his job requires him to drive around town a lot, and it's been snowing hard for the last four days straight...you do the math), however, I hardly blame him. I'm sure we'll be able to catch up, and I'd much rather that he didn't wear himself out. I want him to last a long time. =) Anyway, I headed over to his place, and we were all nicely bedded down at about 9:30 and headed towards sleep when his mother told me I needed to be parked in the driveway so the snow removal people could come through (unbeknownst to her, they already had). So I proceeded to get my car stuck in the first few feet of their driveway and got to dig it out once more, *and* push it myself this time. Yay. Eventually we got the driveway mostly clear and I was able to get up it, but I think I might've strained the muscles between my arms/shoulders - anything I pick up today feels about five pounds heavier than it actually is.
God, I love having a car. =D
Fortunately, I was able to get home this morning with minimal problems, and even more fortunately it's STOPPED SNOWING. Finally. Also, it seems to be warming up some, though not so quickly as the weather people were reporting...but hey, as long as it DOESN'T SNOW for the next few days until the city can get caught up on the plowing and whatnot (or at least until I can get past my first Monday of driving downtown and back twice), I'm going to be much happier.
Anyway, since I don't have work until 1, I think I'm going to read a bit and then head back to bed. Have a good morning, everyone...
