Been a long weekend. Juneau-Brian was on his way to get me Thursday night when he hit a patch of ice on a really nasty turn on his way the the University...so now his nice red Honda Prelude is rather smunched on one side. The good news is, none of the damage is structural, but it's going to cost him about $1000 for parts and shipping to fix...not to mention the time involved in replacing most of the exterior on that side. (Theoretically, if he replaced the head/tail lights on that side he could drive it as is, but he's like me in that he's cursed with a sense of taste. So it looks like the ghetto!Prelude option is out.) Frankly, I'm just glad that he's okay; yes, his car is nice, but it's nowhere near as important to me as he is.

I ended up taking the late bus over to his place that night because it was really icy, and gave him a back/neck rub (whiplash does nasty things - one entire side of his neck was stiff as a board). It was really rather amusing; prior to heading out, I had tossed a bunch of things in my backpack to bring to him (candles, herbal tea, massage oil, the book I'm reading to him) pretty much without thinking. When he asked me what book I'd brought, I started to say (also without thinking) "A Series of Unfortunate...Events..." Ah, the irony. But at least it made him laugh.

Anyway, thanks to a combination of whiplash and a rather nasty cold, he ended up staying home from work on Friday, and I did my best to take care of him. Saturday was similar, though I did manage to get some studying done for my Art History final. He's been holding up pretty well; while he's been mildly depressed about his car, he's glad that its fixable, and has been working on setting things up to get it fixed.

On the slightly cooler side, when we were at the mall on Friday night, we ran into - you guessed it - my stalker Diane again. I hadn't heard from her since leaving Barrow (though we did get to hang out a couple of times before I left, which was cool); she's apparently planning on being in town for the next year or two, as she's rather tired of bouncing all over the state. I've got her cell phone number, and she has my number/knows where I work, so hopefully we can see about hanging out sometime. It's always nice to have a female friend to talk to, and she being one fo the few girls I've met that I can relate to on any level...*shrug*

Meantime, I've managed to come down with Brian's cold (not that I'm surprised)...fortunately it hasn't gotten too nasty yet, but I do have half a sore throat (which is sort of an odd feeling, really). I'll just have to be careful not to overexert myself, and stay inside and do lots of studying instead of going out and about. Hm, maybe this won't be such a bad thing for me...

That said, finals suck, and having to study for them sucks too. So there. =P

Okay, I'm off to study now...
