Yes, having someone whom you love hurt you sucks. Hurting someone you love sucks. But I think it sucks more when they're suffering for reasons completely unrelated to you and all you want to do is comfort them or help them or make it better somehow and you can't do jack shit about it.
So you just watch them suffer, and feel useless, and life goes on...
