Things that will weird you out, #219: Googling yourself and discovering that someone roughly your age with a very similar name recently died and had an obituary printed...in your hometown newspaper.

*shivers*

Ack! Kinda glad I saw it from you first. I woulda been freaked out to see the name there if I ran across it on my own. Yep, pretty mind-fuck-ish alright.

*hug*

Hee. No worries, I'm all right. Was just sort of a momentary "*blink* Uh...all right then" experience. (Second coincidence - "Philip" is my estranged father's name.)

A friend observed that she returned to Juneau at about the time I left. Conservation of Roses. :)

Holy crap. That's...wow, what're the odds? Yours is distinctive enough a name I wouldn't expect a similar nomenclature to appear in such a limited population, nor be a cohort. That's freaky.

Also, 30 is entirely too young. I disapprove. I'll add it to my bug list of the universe I intend to take up with the compiler at some point.

Yeah, you can see why it'd be a little stranger for me than (say) my friend Adam Brown. :)

Her name pops up in the Juneau Empire a bunch of times under the police blotter and birth announcements - looks like she had a lot of trouble with alcohol (starting at age 13!), and four different kids by multiple fathers. Not exactly the kind of life that lends itself to longer-term lifespan, but it's still sad. So long as someone's still alive there's always the chance that they'll figure out a way to be happy, but once they're dead, well...in the immortal words of Gregory House, "in case any of you missed that class in med school, that one's untreatable."

Although, who am I to judge? Perhaps after "giving her heart to the lord" in 2009, she *was* happy. I guess there's not much point in speculation.

You are not allowed to die. If you do, you will be in big trouble.
