Hello, everyone. I'd like to introduce you to The Rebel Bartender. She looks a lot like me. Sounds a lot like me too. But look at that professional blog design! And the quality of the writing! Nope, couldn't be me. I'm way too goofy to ever do something that serious.

She would like me to tell you, however, that she's branching out into Twitter as well, so you can follow her posts and ask her questions there. She may even begin a regular advice feature if there seems a demand.

And, for the Facebook-enabled, I'll be posting links for her there as well. Because I'm a nice person like that.

Here's hoping the stars are favorable for a new venture. I have a feeling she'd really like to see this succeed.

Ooooh, I'm likin' the name a lot.

And she's got a feed on LJ as, oddly enough, [livejournal.com profile] rebelbartender for those of us too lazy to set up a proper RSS reader and who need everything fed to us through LJ-shaped straws.

And, aw, "tharn" -- hadn't heard that in quite a while....

You know, I'm not sure which emotion is stronger in here - the warm fuzzy that someone actually cared enough to set up an LJ RSS feed, or the amusement at the fact that such an apparently trivial and coldly technological action can inspire such warm fuzzy feelings. Hurrah for Internet-age signifiers of affection. :)

Also, funny story about the name - I was agonizing over it for days, trying to come up with something properly clever or pithy or alliterative or what have you, and then while discussing it with my mother (whose attitude has been an amusingly discordant mix of "I'm so glad you're doing something productive that you enjoy and I want to support you" and "Did it really have to be about drinking?"), I made the crack that I should just call it "The Rebellious Bartender", since obviously I was just doing it to annoy her. And then I got to thinking...

Ooo! I recently find myself on FaceBook!
Do I Friend her, or Like her, or send her an invitation for Farmville, or something?

I have a feeling she'd take offense at FarmVille invitations. But maybe she should set up her own Facebook page...

The recent post entitled "The Bartender's Burden" received the highest award possible, next to canonization: "This Entry MOTHER-APPROVED for all viewing audiences!!!

Yours truly, the Mother who wonders how it was that she managed to give birth to a Mixologist and a Fire-Breathing Dragon, in her offspring . . .

Sheer talent and tenacity would be my guess.
