So I've only been prodding my friends to come visit for, what, a year and a half now?

You guessed it. Two different sets in March.

Fortunately one of them is my friend Monica, who is an extremely undemanding person - I warned her that we'd be a bit tighter on cash than we might normally be, and she said that was fine. And since she's one of my best friends, I know she's not just being polite - she'll probably be perfectly happy to just wander around town and eat dinner with us at home. So we won't have to worry that we're not showing her a good enough time.

Also, for once we'll be able to hang out without her boyfriend/fiancee/whatever nearby. Not that I hate him, exactly, but he reminds me way too much of my father in how he treats her. So that's one major stress point gone. And since her daughter will be at home too, she'll be able to do things on the spur of the moment! It'll almost be like we're 21 again!

Jeremy (sig-other) and I will be in Tucson on the 5th of March, to see Abney Park.
Getting down there is something of an adventure, as I don't have a license yet and don't have a vehicle of my own yet (although I have a permit and the car I'll end up with it residing with Jer's family). But once I do, well, visiting down there is at the top of my list for things to do.
Now if I can just get the hang of surviving a parking lot and backing into a space, I think I'll be alright...

Excellent. Actually, that's when Monica will be arriving too (most likely) - maybe we can all meet up at the concert and go have dinner at Five Guys or something. :)

Wait, you're going to Abney Park? If so... Sweet!

Well, I'd like to. A lot might depend on budgetary stuff, though - tickets aren't exactly cheap. :/

All said and done, when I got my tickets, it came out to just $50 for me and Jeremy.
If need be, I can get you both tickets as well. My budget has some wiggle room still.

I'd have gone to the whole con, except I don't have the mindset to manage it this time around and my actual Con money went to PHXCC and will hopefully lend toward PAX Prime again this fall. Hopefully.

Re: boyfriend/fiancee/thing -- eeeegh. But! Still! Incoming friend! w00t!

And having experienced recent deluges of various atmospheric phenomena, raining friends is highly preferable to most forms of precipitation. Aside from, perhaps, cats and dogs, certainly if they were kittens and puppies. Still. Hope you get to relax and bask in the warm glow of happy-good friendtimes.

I dunno. From my experiences with falling kittens, having them land on you with their twenty sharp pointy bits of doom is not the most pleasant of experiences. :) But yes, I'll take raining friends over just about anything, even raining men. :D

When they land on you like that it means they want to keep you. Maybe for lunch at first... but hey, ambition!
