Recently I put my "Intermediate Yoga" DVD in the player for the first time in about a year. Obviously, I thought I was going to kind of suck at some of the harder poses. But I found that I actually could do them with less effort than I could a year ago. I attribute a large part of this to having my car out of commission and therefore walking to and from work, including climbing up the fairly steep hill where I live, three or four times a week.
Tonight we had people over, and I made drinks. It was great fun; I got to meet a friend's boyfriend whom I've heard much about and who turned out to be charming and hilarious company. But that's not what I'm posting about.
What I'm posting about is, I was chatting with Brian just now, still slightly inebriated, and decided to see if I could do Warrior III while in such a state. Considering that it's fairly tough even when sober, I didn't expect to stay in it long before wobbling out of control.
Nope. Remarkably steady, on both sides.
So, for the heck of it, I decide to try Half-Moon Pose, another fairly tough one.
Steady as a rock, again on both sides.
I wonder if I could get Jackie Chan to sponsor a series of workout DVDs - "The Legend of Drunken Yoga". We'd be rich!
