Find out where the nearest public pool is (or if you have one as part of your home find out what needs to be done to maintain it). Find out where the public libraries are. And remember that you might want to have your doors locked more often than not, believe me.

-Jobhunt. Meshes nicely with "explore", doesn't even have to be deliberate, just stroll around with some resumes in your pack and drop one off whenever you think "hey I'd like to work here". Bonus points if you get a call.
