Been down with some kind of flu/cold/nasty virus for the past five days.

Most of that time was spent sleeping, being depressed about health care reform (funny how when most of your brain is gone what's left tends to latch on to one particular thought), reading a webcomic of sorts (thanks John!), and generally being surly about the fact that this was the second time in four months that I had been bed-bound. Unusual for me...no idea if this was swine flu or just a seasonal bug, but it was still no fun. Of course, it also had to come along at a point where I had very little leave time saved up...which made its arrival over a paid holiday either fortuitous or doubly annoying, depending on your point of view.

On the upside(?), I got better at Lumines than any human has any right to be, and unlocked three new skins!. And discovered that it's just about the perfect game to play while stoned out on NyQuil, right before the sleep-crash.

No, I'm not quite 100% yet. But. I've spent enough time in bed, and I'm going to salvage what's left of the week at work, leftover sinus ick be damned.

Wish me luck getting through the day, everyone.

I know there aren't quite words to commiserate with incapacitation, but I hope you're at least feeling better, even if your overall condition hasn't necessarily yanked you out of bed. And dwelling over health care reform isn't going to help, I'm afraid. Maybe bunnies? Or hungry otters?

Here's hoping when it's done burning its way through your system there's enough left to hit the ground running again. Or staggering, at least. For now, just try to enjoy not being at work.

Awww bunneh eating parsley. (Although I have a sneaking suspicion that's actually cilantro.) My brother had a Netherland Dwarf growing up, albeit a short haired variety; they're some of the funniest-looking bunnies you'll ever see. Hard to beat that flat nose, looks like they ran into a wall at high-speed...

There was definitely some staggering involved this morning (I was halfway thinking I was going to pass out around 9 AM, which, considering I was at a training session at the police station, would've been doubly embarrassing), but oddly enough it turned into one of those days where I felt better and more energetic as the day wore on.

Here's hoping the upcoming appointment with Badger Nurse Awesome (which is totally my new band name) helps to get you back up to staggering, yourself.

Yeah, suddenly I find myself awake and alert and paranoid at 4 am. Ambien may be perfectly curved and nine kinds of fun in the sack, but I really wish she'd stop rearranging my cerebral shelves before I wake up. At least there's the follow-up on Tuesday which means this is not going to be six months of working on the "it's not me, it you" speech between moments of perfectly blissful relief.

And glad your yesterday throttled through to win. Just one more and then we can both take two days to be horizontal.

Good luck getting through your day.

Perhaps you should take your own advice and get Pandora to score you some player-piano music!

Hee! Everything's happier and higher-energy when set to cheerful ragtime. :D

Fingers, toes, and tail crossed for you.
Also, the player piano comment made me laugh out loud.

Hey, at least you got a tiny bit of the PAX joy, even if you weren't able to attend!
