I was actually pondering that earlier this morning when I caught the link on Gaiman's blog. I may have to get back to you on it, though - I don't know if it's just been too long since I took an English class or what, but nothing's coming to mind. (If you asked me to pick a Gaiman quote specifically, though, I could tell you in a heartbeat - "You get a lifetime", from Brief Lives.)
Speaking of Gaiman, have you read The Graveyard Book yet? If not, you absolutely should - it's a fantastic story. Plus it's a nice quick read to add to your goal list. :)
"So, I figured it out, why hot dogs come in packages of ten and hot dog buns come in packages of eight. See, the thing is, life doesn't always work out according to plan so be happy with what you've got, because you can always get a hot dog."
You're at a riverside with a boat, a coyote, a goose, and a bag of corn. The coyote always tells the truth, the corn alternates between truth and lies, and the goose always lies. Why are manhole covers in Redmond square?
A very small one. There's about 30,000 people here, and I'd say the number of people I actually *know* is...probably in the teens. Admittedly, I've been a tad antisocial for the past couple of years (something I'm trying to change), but I've never been very good at maintaining the huge networks of acquaintances that some people can.
