Oh, hey! You're back! I thought you'd deleted your journal?

And thank you. We're very happy, and very terrified. :)

Yeah, there's...stuff. You know. Still keeping a low profile, though. This event mandates appearance and revelry, though.

And good, terror means it's sinking in and you understand it. Don't worry -- it'll be over and you'll be married before you know it.

Uh, thanks? :)

I hope stuff resolves itself, and you can return to picspamming hilarious birds soon.

Sorry, did I kick up a little too much dirt with my foot-scuffing? I was trying for something between "adorably bashful" and "freaked out but covering it". :p

Huzzah! :D

In an atypically girly way, I demand to know DETAILS.

Hee! What would you like to know? I'd tell you all about how he proposed, except there wasn't really a proposal as such, more of a "Huh, I guess we should get married, shouldn't we?" "Okay, there's this place in town that's supposed to be super-nice." "Let's go check it out." *one checked-out venue later* "Okay, I'm sold. Let's book it." "July 11th is available, that's right before my birthday." "Sure, sounds good." "So does that mean I'll get two presents?" "You'll probably be getting birthdiversary presents." "Okay."

*LOL* Awesome.

So is it going to be a small wedding?

Oh, yes. I got over my desire for a huge shebang once I was a little older than 16 and realized exactly how much work those are.

The nice thing about the place we picked (http://www.pearsonspond.com) is that they basically do everything for you - you bring yourselves, your clothes, your guests, and whatever food you want; they take care of the cake (although my mother's doing mine), the ceremony, the reception (including tableware and whatnot), greeting and seating everybody, and pretty much everything else. What really sold us on it, though, was the couple who run the place (Diane and Steve). We just dropped in without even calling ahead, and rather than the "Oh, we're a bit busy, but here let's see what we can do" that we were expecting, they greeted us warmly, and when we told them what we wanted they got all excited - apparently Diane is a wedding planner and just loves doing weddings. She spent an hour showing us the place and telling us about the different options before we even talked about booking, and we never felt like she was trying to sell it - just that she's really proud of her little inn, and happy to be sharing it with us. Plus, it's a really nice place.

And the best part is, it's fairly small, so I have a built-in excuse to keep the guest list short - "Sorry, I'd love to have you, but there's just no room." :)

Brilliant! Congratz to you both. I can't imagine a more lovely bride&groom. I'm pleased for you both and slightly envious of Brian. Hopefully in a non-creepy way. :)
