Been waking up rather distressingly muzzy-headed and out of it the last couple mornings. I'm not sure if I'm just getting up during the wrong part of my sleep cycle or what, but the both yesterday and today I woke up confused and disoriented, with that cluttered-brain feeling you sometimes get when your mind works overtime at night instead of relaxing.

I think tonight I'll skip my mixed drink and do some yoga or something instead.

In other news, Across the Universe looks and sounds absolutely gorgeous on Blu-Ray. It also took us half an hour and a software update to watch our legally bought disc on our legally bought player. Yeah. Screw you too, Sony, and your custom firmware and your poorly-programmed menus and your ever-increasingly-intrusive DRM that's already been hacked. Jerks.

Heh. Used the holiday break to catch up on movie-watching only to be subjected to the unskippable piracy nagging (and occasionally insipid shilling), and every time it popped up I just couldn't help but think if I'd torrented the stupid movie instead I wouldn't have to watch those.... (And there's the hours of frustration I had in getting GTA4 to update properly when I'd bought it legitimately....)

That said, if FOX does succeed in torpedoing the release of Watchmen, I'm going to make spite-torrenting an Olympic sport.

Hear, hear.

(Also, if you haven't seen this (http://www.cracked.com/blog/fox-can-eat-several-dicks/) yet, it's amusing in a bitter sort of way.)

I spend entirely too much time on Digg, so I get deeply annoyed by Cracked.com and its legion of affiliated blind diggers. That said, yes, all the dicks.

And apparently Obama's associate AG is a former RIAA drone. Sweet Enola Gay, son.

Well, it's unfortunately what happens when you have two websites that cater to a fairly similar demographic. :) Considering that the websites I read usually have Digg boxes with counts under 100, I've always sort of figured I wasn't missing too much.

Also, the whole Watchmen debacle is yet another point in an overarching argument I've been forming on how ridiculous the whole "rights" and "copyright" and whatnot debate is getting, and how at this point it's frankly stifling creativity rather than encouraging it. But that's a lot of work to get into, and I'm still feeling distressingly muzzy-headed, so instead I'm going to go work on payroll. Because that's totally what you want to be doing when you're feeling muzzy-headed. :)

That means it's working. Creativity means that somebody outside the studios may be coming up with ideas. And that's not what Disney is paying its senators for. They're paying for the right to monitor your PS3 with a live feed and make sure that your copy of Beverly Hills Chihuahua has the official Watch OK Code. ...To protect their artists.

Sometime I will have to ask you what it's like to not wake up muzzy headed and disoriented. It sounds attractive.

Your cynicism does not become you, dear.

I hang my head, and while I do not make the fool's game of promising to abandon it, I do promise to limit your exposure to it.

I'm sure we all agree with your point. However, sawing away at it continually with a dull, rusty blade does nothing to make it better, and indeed only grates on the rest of us. Now, if you can come at your point subtly and with dagger-like wit, I'm sure you will be applauded. :)

Oh! That'll be *much* easier than what I was going to do.
