Twinkling Christmas tree lights make me happy, as does the anticipation of a large pile of presents beneath waiting to be opened.

My contribution is coming in email. (: It's just not very large.

Bah. Christmas isn't about expecting presents, it's about the joy of giving. (Receiving is simply a nice side benefit. :)

That's wonderful, Rose. I count it a blessing when you can reach adulthood (in age at least, in my case) and still have that sense of wonder and anticipation. :)
It's taken me some time to get over all the worry with the health issues of myself and my Mom and now my immediate family to be able to relax a little and enjoy the Christmas season. And usually, I'm the one really going all out. I'm thankful for my daughter Katie who has been my Christmas Spirit this year.

*laughs* Your daughter sounds like a real sweetheart. I'm glad you've been able to relax. *hugs* Merry Christmas.

I have an irrational love for those mechanical deer lawn decorations. Just thought you should know.

*laughs* If you move to Anchorage and plant some willows in your front lawn, you'll have real live moose decorations come winter. Not sure if that's quite the same thing, though. :)

a) I also have an irrational love for willow trees. This might work, except for the whole "moving to Anchorage" part. ;P

b) I have never seen a moose in real life. That would be AWESOME!

They're all over the place in Southcentral Alaska. They're pretty funny-looking close up - swaybacked, with legs and hooves like deer, long horse-like faces, and tall rabbity ears. One of my favorite teenage memories is chatting with a friend on the phone on my back porch on a hot sunny day and having three of them come out from the woods behind our house to drink from/take a shower in our sprinkler. I wish I'd had a camera.
