Amusing new-job moment

There's a radio that sits on my desk, so I can contact the folks working out in the field if I need to. So far it's not been necessary, but a side benefit is that I get to listen to the various conversations they have over the often-staticky and feedback-laden system.

...I'm not sure whether it says more about the quality of the radio, or my own geeky proclivities, that after listening to a few of the guys discussing something or other this morning, I had a very strong urge to pick up the receiver and transmit "Red Leader, this is Red Two, standing by."

Yeah, part of the reason I was so tempted was to see if anyone replied "Lock S-foils in attack position!"
