Yup, you were the first person I thought of.

I figured that maybe it'd be blatant enough of a pander that even PUMAs wouldn't fall for it, but I've heard enough anecdotal evidence already to say that, well, superficiality sells.

I want to grab the American electorate by the lapels and shake it, screaming, "Do not tell me you are stupid enough to fall for this," eight years of evidence to the contrary.

I'm pretty sure that the media narrative of the PUMA as a disgruntled Hillary supporter who is voting for McCain out of spite and just wants a woman, any woman, in office, is pulled whole-cloth from Roger Ailes' and Rupert Murdoch's asses.

I did see an interview with one fervent (one might charitably say "rabid") self-proclaimed PUMA who also proceeded to characterize Obama as a Muslim.

And yes, her vote carries just as much weight as mine will. Sigh.
