First off, I know a few of you have been wondering what this adorable Lydia person I've been continually referring to actually looks like. So here are a couple pictures of Lydia, her mane of hair, and her cherubic face:






There, see? Adorable, just as advertised. I think I need to get her one of these for Christmas.





She loves kitties, too! And they love her. What's not to like?



Special Friday Bonus Picture Time: Brian rented several different lenses for his camera to take with us on our upcoming PAX trip, and they got here this morning. So, naturally, he was wandering around the office taking pictures of random things with them to see how they worked. These were taken with a wide-angle lens, which is normally used for shots of things like large rooms and landscapes, and thus produces some interesting distortions when used for portrait photography:






In the full-size version you can practically count the pores on my nose. Kind of impressive, given that the lighting conditions in our office aren't that great.





Do not look directly at pure unedited Rose face, as its rays have been known to cause retinal damage and occasional bad poetry. Gaze at own risk.

I would love to adopt Lydia - does she require a second Mum? She looks so nice and hugable! You look fantastic - Brian definately has a career in supermodel photography!!!! I saved both your photos so I can see them on my routating desktop photo gallery. Love to all, Mum

I'm not sure if she does or not - I will have to ask. Although if she'd grown up with you for a mother she probably wouldn't have needed to go through Army Basic Training to learn to stand up for herself!
