Did some pretty serious rock climbing last night. Well, serious in that I tried a course that I used to be able to do easily about a year ago and actually made it almost the whole way up.

I probably would've made it all the way up if I hadn't saved it for last - by that time my arms were starting to give way.

Now my forearm muscles are going "Ow, stopit" whenever I use them - which, incidentally, I mostly do by typing.

Stupid muscles and their stupid energy-saving wussifying process when not used...

In other news, I want to get a decent harness and my own shoes - the rental ones at the gym sort of suck. However, I am still broke and will likely continue to be broke for the next three paychecks or so, when I finally get my share of all our moving and car expenses paid off. *sigh*

(On the plus side, thanks to some help from my mother in exchange for travel agent services, I'm ahead by a few hundred dollars. So it'll probably only be three paychecks instead of four. Thanks, Mum.)

I wish we could just edit our stats in real life.

"Hmm...okay, Strength 18, Constitution 18...let's set Intelligence at 20, and Charisma...ooh, 18, with a +2 bonus on opposite sex..."

Wish I could find time to hit a course, myself... as it is, I'm still trying to motivate myself into starting to run again (I hate running, but it's the one thing I can do that won't guarantee injury).

What about swimming? Finding a facility can sometimes be problematic, but it's one of the lowest-impact forms of exercise and has all sorts of health benefits. (Although showoff-worthy muscles aren't one of them, admittedly.)

Unfortunately, I have an old, old shoulder injury the reminds me of its existence when I swim.

I just have to get my fat ass out on the road... I will have to spend some time finding music to run to-- the right tempo makes the workout so much better.

That's true. Back when I was running regularly, I used to like listening to Dune and other techno - the strong rhythm helped me not think about minor discomforts.
