Noooooooooooooo!
Dec. 21st, 2007 10:10 amMy hatred for Gross-Alaska (the local movie theater company) knows no bounds.
Not only do they have an awful track record with customer service, movie-watching experience, and title selection, they have now committed an unforgivable sin.
They won't have Sweeney Todd playing here in time for us to go see it on Christmas.
I mean, come on. I've been looking forward to this movie for months now - specifically, to going to see it on Christmas with Brian and Taktuk and anyone else who wanted a Tim Burton musical gore-fest to balance out all that pesky holiday hope and joy.
(In their defense, I can see the company's logic - there are a very limited number of screens here in town, and kiddie-friendly movies like The Golden Compass or Alvin & the Chipmunks are likely to be far more profitable over Christmas break, as harried parents drop off their hordes of sprogs to see them multiple times just so they can have a few hours' peace. But still.)
So now I'm torn. On the one hand, I still really want to see it. But on the other, I now hate our local theaters even more, and am even less inclined to give them any of my money. So I have to decide if my lack of patience outweighs my loathing of Gross-Alaska, or whether I can wait until it comes out on DVD (or potentially HD DVD, which would be awesome).
Stupid frelling decisions...

You may want to direct some of your wrath at Paramount.

Date: 2007-12-22 07:02 pm (UTC)...To be honest, I almost preferred living in a place with no theater than living in a place with few screens and horrendous service...
