Brian and I went and saw Stardust last night and had dinner at Doc Water's for the first time in several months - they'd started skimping on ingredients for a while, so we took our business elsewhere. Fortunately they seem to have wised up and are using good-quality stuff again.

All in all, it was a lovely evening. However, on second viewing of Stardust (which was equally enjoyable as the first, if not more so because I wasn't constantly comparing it to the book), something occurred to me, which I have put in formal terms below:

Chekhov's Law: "If you say in the first chapter that there is a rifle hanging on the wall, in the second or third chapter it absolutely must go off."

De Niro's Corollary: "If a swishy pirate captain in the first act makes special mention of the fact that he has lots of dresses, then by the beginning of the third act he must be shown wearing a corset and flouncing about in a pink dress like Princess Peach."

On a side note, was anyone else disappointed that he didn't actually, y'know, ever *wear* the pink fluffy dress? The corset and feather boa were great, but I guess the producers didn't have the balls to actually have De Niro wear the thing. Ah, well...

'Cause, you know, DeNiro would have looked awesome in it. :)

Yes. Although really, he needed someone to help him with that corset. Those things by nature really require two people, even if you have it laced through the middle so you can pull it somewhat yourself...

Not that I'd know anything about this, no sirree...*shiftyeyes*

There should be photos of you not knowing this. (:

There are, or were, last I checked...unfortunately they're a few years old. I keep telling Brian he should point his new camera over my way, but so far he's been too busy for a lingerie shoot. *sigh*

This would be where I make the obligatory 'I have a camera and some free time' comment, wouldn't it?

Well, unless you've also got the obligatory plane ticket and hotel reservations, it wouldn't do you much good. (Not that I wouldn't put you up at our place, but the second bedroom isn't really a bedroom anymore, so...)

I can get those. (: Don't tease me.
(Assuming you have hotels in Alaska. I guess I'd just go to the biggest igloo and ask if they have a spot off to the side I can curl up on with a few seal skins.)

Flying to Alaska is muy expensive, though.

REALLY expensive.

Don't get me wrong, the world of hetero men and lesbian women would thank you forever if you did this, but there's quite a cost outlay involved.

Yeah, I know. q: I used to work for an airline. But... it would totally be worth it. (:
