From the originating website:The Doo-Dah News Network brings you the finest headlines that you can sing to the tune of "Camptown Races" if you add "Doo-Dah" to the end.

As near as I can tell, it works - feed any of these into Google and you'll come up with a genuine news story. What I'm most curious about, though, is how it determines the number of syllables in any given headline, or how it decides where to truncate a headline in order to fit the seven-syllable criterion.

All that said - it's so awesome in such a totally pointless way that truly, this must be what the Internet was invented for.

It's not 100% -- a few have slipped through the cracks, and there's the whole problem of meter (optimally it should be two trochees and either a dactyl or a cretic), but that's splitting hairs. It is truly made of awesome. My favorite so far is "Busta Rhymes rejects plea deal."

Yeah, the meter's off sometimes, but that's the sort of obstacle you're going to come up against in any mechanical grouping of words - English is such a noncomforming language that any "rule" you enter in will only work 80% of the time.

I really like "Pygmies housed in Congo zoo". =D
