New girly things!

I just came back from a grocery run where I spent almost $65 on materials of no particular nutritional or practical value. Something about this amuses me greatly. Fortunately, everything purchased is of recreational value, or else I would have to start seriously questioning my sanity.

The bulk of the purchases were makeup-related. I was sifting through my makeup basket the other day when I realized that almost all of my makeup varies from a couple to five years old, and is a little worse for the wear as a result. So, since today was payday (largest one of the year, yay!), I decided to see what I could find for replacements.

On a tangentially related note, why is it that a good 90% of the lipsticks I buy have the word "Rose" in the title? (Today's were Ginger Rose and Teak Rose, incidentally.)

Also, since Brian wasn't here to shoot me dirty looks, I bought myself a huge bag of Tim's Cascade Style jalapeno chips. I don't even know why I like them as much as I do (Brian's tried his best and never been able to), but hey - they're yummy.

And there's such a focus on "Rose" because it's considered to be the most beautiful flower etc... yes it's a little overused.

There are a lot of "Rose" colors, but all together I'd say they only make up 15%-20% of the makeup line; yet somehow that's what I almost always end up buying. Admittedly, some of this may be the fact that "Rose" catches my eye so I'm more likely to look at a color with the word in it, but I think a large part of it is that Revlon tends to use the word "Rose" to describe a color set that largely coincides with my skin tones. Or something.

*shrugs* Beats me. You'd think most of them would be too pink for me (and admittedly, some of them are), but a lot of them work quite well.
