Apparently, the combined aftereffects of alcohol and a good backrub improve my stamina. I'll have to remember this.
Went over to Jon's house this afternoon to cut out fabric for my project. (I could theoretically do it here but this place is just a little cozy for stretching out that much fabric, so I borrowed his living room for an hour or so.) After I was done, Jon took me over to the place where he is now housesitting (all sorts of people going on vacation this week, it seems), which, coincidentally, has a fairly sizable stash of alcohol that the owners told him to help himself to. I didn't get drunk, or even tipsy...though I did have a Jack and Coke (or, technically, a Jim and Diet Coke). Wasn't half bad, either. We watched The Shipping News (one of the few movies they had that wasn't 50% things blowing up), which I enjoyed immensely. I'm going to have to nab the soundtrack for it...
Then I got home, grabbed Heather for her nighttime (relatively speaking) walk, and ran halfway around the block without even thinking about it.
Normally I have trouble going the length of one block without collapsing into a wheezing pile of emphysematous flesh.
That rocked.
(And on a side note, "emphysematous" is a most excellent word. Yay for Thesaurus.com. =)
