Well, not only is J&W sending Brian out to Sitka tomorrow to fill in for their computer guy there, they had to send him out to the mine tonight to go fix something semi-urgent. He was supposed to go on a plane today, but the weather went bad (common occurrence in Alaska, as one might guess) and he had to catch the evening boat out there. If I'm lucky I'll get to see him briefly when he stops by the office after getting back in the morning, but after that I won't get to see him until Friday night. Puu.

However, just to go into a little more detail about why I love my new job so much - not only do I have my own space and everything, but I have my own time. They tell me what needs doing, and then they let me do it - no 60 zillion interruptions, no customers coming in every 10 seconds, nothing. I do one thing, I do the next thing, I occasionally answer the phone, it's all good. And if I get everything done, I get to do fun things like update my blog. =)

Of course, there'll probably be days when the phone's ringing off the hook and it won't be quite so pleasant, but I'm certainly not complaining right now. And phones are much more manageable when you (mostly) don't have to deal with people coming in as well.

I don't think I'm ever working in customer service again if I can help it...

Yeah. Reception can suck. It can also be quite rewarding - having the customer get all happy on you because you took notes on a slip of paper to help the greasemonkeys fix your car, then taking their money, is eviedently the automobile equivalent of soul-saving.

:)

There is antisuck, too.
