Wow.

When the a movie is so bad that the country's premier critic not only gives it zero stars but spends most of his review talking about the wankage (which is the sort of thing any of us can read daily on ljdrama.com) involved in the movie's making because that's more interesting than the movie itself...

...that's pretty darn bad.

Not that I expected anything different from a Deuce Bigalow sequel. But even "The Dukes of Hazzard" got one star...

Awesome. When independent movies struggle to ever see the light of day and drek like this is greenlighted and shoved through production...someone needs to take a swing at 'em. Go, RE.

Maybe they should write a factual review about what it's like to swallow a large thin-plastic bag full of razor blades and then to chug a bottle of salt and vinegar, because that would be more appealing to me than listening to someone who knows nothing about art - other than the fact that it makes them feel proud and shiny - spouting off about it.

Um, no offense or anything, but Roger Ebert has been reviewing movies for over 40 years. I'd think that by now he'd have learned a thing or two about "art". But even I, with one art history class being my sole claim to "knowing" anything about art, can tell that Deuce Bigalow was a frelling stupid idea from the beginning.

Unfortunately, it'll probably make money, which is what people care about more. *sigh*

My first reaction when I heard about Deuce Bigalow II was, "I thought the first movie tanked." And it came out, what, 6 years ago? I didn't know movies (aside from various prequels that shall remain nameless) were allowed to have a sequel that long after the original came out. Especially not when the sequel was just a re-hash of the original. Plus, I never have been able to remember when Rob Schneider was actually funny (Aside from cameos).
