Theoretically I should be practicing my scene right now, but my scene partner has (for the second time) flaked out on me. So we get to reschedule for tomorrow, as I have plans for all the rest of today. So much for my nice quiet weekend at home. *grumps*

In other news, I am feeling a bit better than I was a few days ago. I had a nice talk with my mother on the phone, which always helps, and got to the root of some of the things that were bothering me. I think the root of it is that I don't yet want to contribute the time and energy to an acting career this season - that's going to be a helluva lot of time per week, and along with a (hopefully) new full-time job, new relationship, and new apartment, I think I'd just burn out. So I'm tentatively planning to focus on the job/apartment/relationship segment this summer (and possibly this winter), and figure out the acting bit next season. (Unless they're doing a production of Chicago this season - in which case, I'm going to be the first one at the auditions. But that seems unlikely, given the space limitations of the various stages here in Juneau.)

Also thanks to my mother, I was able to take Juneau-Brian out to Di Sopra (really nice restaurant here in town) for his birthday last night. $85 for the two of us, but we really went the whole nine yards - wine, appetizer, main course, dessert. And, of course, this being a nice restauraunt, we were served various fillers and palate cleansers. So far as the wine went, we got a couple of varieties I hadn't tried before. (I actually really like Riesling, which is odd as I don't generally like white wine. Riesling, however, is very bright and crisp without being overly acidic, and I think it'd go really well with Ian's clamsauce (hint, hint). I don't think I'm going to become much of a Zinfandel drinker, though - it's a little soft as red wine goes. I can see it going pretty well with fish or something else less rich, but I like my red wine to have a bit more of a bite to it.) And they have a chocolate cake that is quite literally to die for.

Oddly enough, it seems a number of people I know had nightmares last night. In mine I was at Di Sopra again and they kept serving me food and wine even though I knew I wasn't going to be able to pay for it all - I think the bill ended up being something like a thousand dollars. I woke up from that realizing that Brian was holding me very tightly; when I asked him what was the matter he said he'd been dreaming that I was breaking up with him. And Brian O'Blivion's mother apparently was dreaming of haunted houses and whatnot last night...odd. I'll have to ask around and see if anyone else had nightmares.

Anyway, Brian O'Blivion just arrived, so it looks like I'm heading off to the store...hurray.

Yeah, nightmares too. Violence/death I think, slept alright despite it.

I can't remember my dream last night, but it was probably odd.

Daniel doesn't do as good a job as Morpheus did, I'm guessing.

Why your Wine selection went wrong

White wine goes with Fish and Poultries
Red Wine goes with Cattle and other 4 legged beasts.
Dessert Wines (Ports, etc) go with an upper-income tax bracket

That's known common practice.

Using Red Wine with Fish never is a good idea

I happen to be aware of that. However, the prawns were served on a bed of stewed tomatoes, and the red wine went just fine with them.

I just like my wines to have a bit more of a bite to them, is all.

I know a bunch of people who had nightmares last night too. I guess the planets are making an unexpected re-alignment :P
As for me, I don't exactly dream anymore for various reasons.
