Had a great weekend. Juneau-Brian and I went skiing again, and the weather was perfect - clear, crisp, sunny, and lots and lots of snow. (I nearly didn't go - I hate the cold, and it was definitely cold that day - but I decided to brave it and had a great time regardless. It helped that it wasn't quite as cold as I'd thought it would be.) I made it down the medium-sized hill several times, and while I'm not quite courageous enough to try the tallest course yet, I think I'm improving rapidly. I only fell over once this time, and didn't have any major wipeouts. I have every intention of taking Brian O'Blivion skiing one of these days, too, but at the moment it's going to have to wait until I have a bit more cash on hand.
Sunday I spent pretty much the whole day helping him take apart his old bunk bed, clean out the dust bunny civilization that was underneath, and put in his new bed - a Sealy Posturepedic mattress and boxspring. Talk about comfortable. I think I slept better last night than I have in some time. Though now I have to keep myself from spending any more of his money for the next couple of weeks. And in general, probably - we both need to start seriously saving for our apartment, and I'm still pretty close to flat broke (my first paycheck was all of $100. Yippy skippy). Unfortunately, this means I won't be able to do anything particularly grandiose for Valentine's Day, but I've got one or two smallish plans. I just wish I could do more for him - he does so much for me...
Fortunately, I get paid again the day after his birthday (and a decent paycheck, this time!) so I should be able to take him out to dinner someplace nice. =)
In all, things go pretty well. Today's shaping up to be a pretty long day, though, so I'm definitely looking forward to sleeping on that mattress again...
