Urgent, indeed...
Jan. 20th, 2005 04:06 pmLynn (one of the library directors) got a call from the Mendenhall Valley Public Library just now, asking for a book that was on hold. Now, there's nothing particularly unusual about our sending books that are on hold over there if that's where the person wants them delivered; usually, however, we have a computerized list that we print out each morning that tells us which books to go get and which libraries to send them to. Apparently the person at the Valley library considered the delivery of this book urgent enough to merit a call of its own. This happens on occasion, and wasn't too big of a deal; I figured it was probably a legal document or something that they needed for work. So I sent Toni (one of our new recruits this semester) downstairs with the call number to go and grab it. She comes back a few minutes later, with both the book and a rather confused expression on her face.
The name of the book?
Angry Housewives Eating Bonbons, by Lorna Landvik.
I guess someone down at the Valley library *really* needed their fluffy-airplane-novel fix...
