This has to be the FUGLIEST advertisement I've ever seen.

Priceless? I suppose, in a trainwreck sort of way...

EDIT 12:17 PM: While we're on the subject of the fugly, I present to you the unequivicoal worst album cover in the history of hard rock, sent to me courtesy of [personal profile] eventhewaves.

I mean, seriously. Surrealism and rock music are hardly strangers to each other (look at most of the music videos out there). But this goes beyond the boundaries of surrealism, past the borders of the mighty and vast empire of "Art", and lands right smack in the middle of "bad acid trip" territory. With a nice healthy dose of ketchup-covered "WTF??" on the side.

...mmm, ketchup.

And, I laugh.

I do wonder how many people will be suing them for copyright infringement. Is there music any good?

If I received a mug with a picture of a family member on it like that one in the advert, I'd be very scared. Too scared in fact to lift the mug to my lips to drink out of it. :D

And that album cover.... what can I say? *sigh*

Thankyou for a good giggle. :D

That "art" is frighteningly familiar. It's kinda like the cover art for some generic & crappy fantasy novel. Involving pirates. And elves. And knights with masculinity issues. And Ancient Egypt, just to be different. And more pirates. GAY pirates.

Looks like a first year art student who reads too much fantasy/treasure island got involved with a band...It would of course be less stupid if the pirates were not digging what appears to be the groups LAST CD out of a treasure chest. But not much less stupid...

That is indeed an ugly ad and album cover.

On the other hand, have I poked you yet with Conjure One? A somewhat new band I found through AMVs, and adore. Their best song is "Center of the Sun" and is done to "Metropolis" in the AMV. After watching the AMV for a while I hopped on Itunes and bought the whole album. Rather like it, actually.

The baby is planning something... I know it.

Gay jokes strike me as cheap shots.

I'm more worried about the nicely-phallic shape of those horns the people in the background are blowing. I want a banana right now, damnit!

The album art is trippy, but not bad. I mean, the plume isn't pinkish. It's obviously a trick of the light. Still, pirates, plate armor, energy swords, and compact discs? Holy anachronism, Batman! Call Time Squad! Call Marty McFly! Oh, and anyone who thinks music CDs are priceless enough to put in a chest and bury need to rethink their priorities. Limited editions are one thing, but...

Ah well.
