missroseroseNot much been going on of late, as people may have guessed from lack of updates. School is school, work is work, and I doubt anyone would be interested in the gory details of either. Still, because I'm nice, and because this is ostensibly a record of my life for me to look back on someday, I'll mention a couple of things that've happened recently...
1.) Still dealing with a fair amount of pain regarding my recent breakup with Ryan. It's not anywhere near as heart-wrenching as the emotional shit I had to deal with when Ian and I broke up, as I didn't have anywhere near as much invested in keeping this relationship and eventually marrying the dude sometime in the future, but it's still...there. Feels almost like a small hole in the heart - not enough to be noticeable, most of the time, but there to trip you up at the oddest moments by giving off a twinge when you least expect it.
At least I know I'm still human...
2.) Went to JoAnn's yesterday and spent 50% of my remaining checking account balance (which wasn't all that much, really) on a few more patterns, plus some material to make a shawl to go with my red dragon dress. I'm going to be taking Juneau-Brian and Thelonius-Brian* to the local opera production in early November. And this is one frelling sexy dress. (Juneau-Brian's comment was something along the lines of, "It has to be against some international code of gender warfare to wear that..." And he hasn't even seen it on. =D) I'll be sure to post pictures...
3.) Had my first opportunity to go see the moonlit glacier last night, which is something I've been wanting to do ever since I got a car - I'm willing to bet that the Mendenhall Glacier is absolutely gorgeous in the moonlight, and last night we finally had a clear night with a decent-sized moon. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get anyone to go with me (Ian didn't feel like it, Monica was ready for bed and Juneau-Brian was dead on his feet), so I didn't end up going...I mean, I'm sure it'd be pretty, but it seems like the sort of thing that'd be better shared with someone, y'know?
4.) And...that's pretty much all, folks.
*Also known aseventhewaves. Was originally going to call him California-Brian, but he hates CA (or at least, the part that he's staying in now), so I'm calling him Thelonius-Brian instead. And yes, there's a long story behind that.
