Spent the last couple of days doing various things. Cleaning up the house somewhat. Packing (and then unpacking when I end up needing something). Helping my mother move into her new house. Buying the fugliest watch I've ever owned (though it was the least fugly of the ones they had at the store). Beating the crap out of two opponents (one of them my mother) at Scrabble.

Getting to know Diane better.

We did end up going to Osaka's that evening; last night she called me, and we spent the evening doing nothing in particular. This evening she met my mother and we all played Scrabble, as well as doing some grocery shopping and cooking...

The truth is, I like her. She's nice, she's interesting, and above all, she's intelligent. I'm not particularly attracted to her sexually, but it's very pleasant to have someone who's fairly similar to myself to talk to. (She's a bit introverted, and has a hard time talking to other women - and sometimes people in general - because she's more intelligent than many of them. No, this doesn't sound familiar at all...*eyeroll*) In some ways, she reminds me of [livejournal.com profile] eventhewaves - although we're in very different places in a lot of ways, we just seem to have that same wavelength.

Unfortunately, I'm moving to Juneau and she (for now) is moving to Washington to help her mother move, so we probably won't see each other again for a while. But I have her email, and every intention of keeping in touch.

It's nice to know that I can, indeed, connect with the occasional fellow human.

That KROZ thing reminded me that I once asked you what it meant, so I went back to check and found your reply. That's some pretty funny business. It's also a little disappointing because it was always playing some pretty good songs on KROZ, so I wanted to find out what it was so that I could TUNE IN. I think you should make a radio station that plays whatever is playing in your head.

Totally unrelated to your post..

I got to see an Alaska native in concert last night, and I thought of you... :-)

If you ever get a chance, go see Jewel. She has more stage presence than anyone I've ever seen. Not to mention an amazing voice. (She even yodels for an encore.)

Take care!
