missroserose$158.08. One hundred fifty eight fucking dollars and eight cents. This would be the price tag for a pair of emergency birth control pills, combined with the emergency room visit. A hundred and fifty bucks to get a fucking pill so that ideally I won't have to get a fucking abortion. Funny how something like a broken condom can be so fucking expensive.
I'm sick and tired of America and our shitty notions of "free enterprise." Free enterprise is all well and good to a point, but whatever happened to an American's right to "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness"? Part of that is having access to reasonably priced health care. And a hundred and fifty bucks is not reasonable for a 15 minute talk to a doctor and two pills. I'm sorry. If I'd known how much it would cost I might well have just taken my chances.
Why can't Bush get his head out of his ass and quit spending so much on the military? Canada's got jack shit for military and fucking good health care - I knew someone who got laser eye surgery for something like $400 up there. There are clinics around here that give discounts if you're a student or some such, but (of course) they're all closed on Sunday. And (of course) this had to happen Saturday night...
