Tax return came today. Things to do:
1.) Buy myself a few more months of LJ paid time.
2.) Make new icons out of old pictures (sent courtesy of
taktukbrightsea) so I can get my money's worth out of aforementioned LJ paid time.
3.) Once I've finished writing up my British Literature midterm, buy myself a new corset.
4.) Do the I'm-no-longer-broke-college-student-mambo all over the living room. =)

Date: 2004-02-28 03:00 am (UTC)It's an interesting feeling, really. Depending on how tight it's laced, it can actually help your posture as well as take some strain off of your back (I was wearing a waist cincher under my clothes for a while for just this reason - my back was really sore from carrying around too many schoolbooks). Laced tighter, however, it's a squeezing, constricting sensation (obviously) - you can't breathe in as much, and it tends to make your upper body movements rather stiff (first rule of SCA: Tie your shoes, *then* lace your corset). But I've always found it rather erotic, to tell the truth. Maybe it has something to do with the partial asphyxiation; or it could be that it tends to make you look damn good (as those photos can attest). Either way, I do enjoy wearing them, though I try not to keep them on for too long due to the health factor...
Whew. That ended up being fairly long. Maybe I should devote a blog entry to waxing philosophical about corset fetishes...

Date: 2004-02-28 03:52 pm (UTC)Also, this makes me think about saddling up a horse. You know how they sometimes hold their breath when you are putting the girth on, and then later on they can breathe out and the saddle slips off? Of course, you want to be restricted and constricted, whereas the horse is being ornery and trying to make the rider fall off...
