Musical Notes

I'm one of those people who gets songs stuck in my head very easily, especially songs with a catchy melody of some sort, or lyrics that attract my attention. (Whenever I put "courtesy of KROZ" after the title of my current music, that means it's the music that's playing in my head - K-Rose is my internal radio station.) However, unlike a lot of other people with this talent/problem, I actually rather enjoy having the music in my head; with a few exceptions, it's sort of pleasant, kind of an emotional backdrop to my life. Occasionally there will be a problem, such as getting a really annoying or really inappropriate song playing over and over, but I've found that I can generally exert some measure of control over what's playing, which can (again) be fun.
I've also noticed that when I have some piece of music or other playing in the background of my mind, it tends to drown out the other voices - the ones that criticize, or discourage, or generally try to make my life miserable. So I'm sort of wondering if perhaps I developed this ability to listen to internal music as a way to ignore that part of my personality...
