At work again...

missroseroseAm generally feeling better. The sore throat receded somewhat, probably thanks to the antibiotics, so I only needed the one dose of Vicodin. Which means that I'm now in posession of 10 or 15 pills of prescription narcotic...*evil grin* Ah, the possibilities.
I've started reading fanfic again, which I've come to realize means I'm stressed; normally it's not my thing, but when I get stressed about something, reading fanfic gives me something to briefly escape to, even if it's just to laugh at utterly horrible stuff (I've been lurking at![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
pottersues for just that reason). On the other hand, I took a look around yesterday to see what sort of fanfic there is for Firefly, and I'm pleased to say that in amongst the usual slash junk you get with any fandom, there're some really well-done pieces. Hell, most of the slash is even well done. Probably has something to do with the fact that Firefly is more of a cerebral show, and therefore tends to attract people with actual intelligence...
Anyway, I also found a nifty little Firefly fanfic community that does challenges every week - just for short pieces. Since I've had little luck finishing anything long or arcing since my first Daria fanfic and I found this week's theme intriguing (100 to 1000 words about a truth and a lie), I figured I'd give it a shot. And so I present:
My First Fanfic In Almost Two Years
