Have you ever had a week that seems to be going really well until one of the people you know gets all sentimental and teary-eyed and starts going all maudlin on you?

Have you ever thought that a situation was somewhat resolved and finally getting better, only to have someone involved go on a self-pity streak and drag you back down through the muck?

Have you ever gotten really, really sick of having someone drag you down through all the emotional shit of the past with them in a supposed attempt to "solve" it?

Have you ever just wanted to kick someone in the balls repeatedly, if only because it would give them something else to feel sorry for themselves about?
