Another day, another cavity...

missroseroseHad my first dental appointment in a couple of years this morning. I swear I saw the dentist visibly wince when he looked in my mouth. See, my teeth and I pretty much have this "don't ask, don't tell" policy - they don't bother me, I don't bother them. But then some guy has to get all curious and go poking around in there with sharp metal objects...after which, instead of giving me a cavity count, he just said, "We're going to have to make an appointment to get you some fillings." So I now have an appointment on June 1st for drilling and re-sealing - the last time I had dental work done they put sealant on my back teeth for some reason, which has started to chip away and caused little pockets of decay. Bloody teeth.
The wireless is offically dead - Jon tried to install a new modem in my brother's old computer and couldn't get it to work, and when he tried to reinstall the old modem, the computer refused to accept it. Fortunately my brother's ordered us a new computer so we'll hopefully have a box with a decent modem set up in a week or two. And in the meantime, dialing in myself isn't so bad. I don't seem to mind the extra cord as much as Mom does.
On the plus side, a mysterious benefactor (whom I shall call Brian to protect his privacy) has sent me a lovely white satin and lace waist cincher with blue ribbon. Not the sort of thing you actully cinch your waist in - I've got a really great leather and velvet waist cincher/corset thingy that I ordered as a prize for myself - good grades are worth it. And the fact that my mother's paying for half of it helps.
Still trying to figure out if I want to go back to waitressing, but I've got to find work of some sort this week. Not only is my mother (figuratively) glaring at me, but I'm starting to get restless. Lack of income = unhappy Rose.
If anybody ever invents painless, convenient dental work, they're going to make a bloody fortune...
