New job get!
Oct. 7th, 2008 10:43 amSo almost accidentally, I've managed to snag a position as an Administrative Assistant for the city. I'm looking forward to it - while I've enjoyed working here at J&W, it's started to feel stifling over the past year, and I'm ready for a new challenge. And the folks over there seem like a cool bunch to work with. (Plus, more money is never a bad thing.)
It's a little bit of a scary transition, especially since it's more of a professional "adult" position (albeit not that professional; it's still in Juneau, after all). But I'm fairly sure I'll be able to handle it - I've learned a lot over the past three years. And if it doesn't work out for some reason, I'm certain I'll be able to get work elsewhere. People always need folks who can handle paperwork.
So, hooray for new opportunities! Let's hope I'm still feeling as optimistic two weeks from now, when I start.
