I heard through the grapevine ("the grapevine", in this case, being a euphemism for Brian) that Microsoft has given Bungie (the creators of the wildly popular Halo series) unprecedented levels of banning ability on Xbox Live, in order that they may police Halo 3 games and rid the world of cheating scum, thus ushering in a new era of fair and balanced online Halo matches, to be enjoyed the world over, forever and ever, amen.

Bungie, being the whimsical group that they are, promptly went in search of an appropriate term for such power. I quote from their newspost: "The full power of the Banhammer sends users to Banadu."

That made me laugh, but for some odd reason, it got me inspired as well. So here's my contribution to the vast collection of fan-related parodies on the internet:

In Banadu did Bungie Team
A fitting punishment decree :
Where Live, the sacred platform, ran
Through fiber measureless to man
Down to the players free.
So twice five score of farktard cheats
Were walled and trapped for their deceits :
And there were game-maps bright with revelrous stunts
Where blew up many a birthday-party Grunt ;
And here were griefers shut off from their sprees,
Decrying Bungie's lack of clemency.

That was as far as I got before my store of enthusiasm and Halo-related knowledge gave out. If anyone wants to continue it, feel free. (Original here, for those of you unfamiliar with Coleridge. Uncultured swine, you. :)
