Brian and I spent much of the weekend volunteering for the Arts & Humanities Council, which consisted of running around town putting up posters for the next concert (a group called "Bearfoot", whom I can only assume play bluegrass music). Saturday was a lovely sunny day, so we walked all over downtown doing just that, much to the chagrin of my feet and calves. But hey, sore muscles build character.
We also finally got picture frames for the pictures we had taken on our first anniversary...a year and a half ago. (Let it never be said that we don't procrastinate!) We ended up putting them up on the wall in our bedroom, and if my camera wasn't still missing I'd take a picture. Suffice it to say, though, that two years after moving into this apartment, our bedroom is finally mostly decorated. (Still a blank wall over our bed, but we'll probably get to that eventually.) I also cleaned and dusted our dresser and nightstand; the latter hadn't been touched since moving in, so it was pretty icky.
And of course, now that we're finally getting our apartment looking lived-in...we're thinking about moving! Well, maybe not too seriously, but our lease is up and (unlike the last couple times we were in a position to move) there's actually a fairly large variety of condos in our price range available. So we decided to go get pre-approved and maybe go take a look - if nothing strikes our fancy, we'll just keep on renting the same place. And if something that we like comes up, maybe we'll see if we can actually get an offer in. It helps a lot that the market's cooled off here as in other places - it's still fairly strong (places where most people work for the government tend to have strong real estate markets thanks to the extra stability), but the insane bidding wars seem to have come to an end, and there's actually a fair number of places available. Last year there weren't many available at all - at least, not for any length of time.
So the next month should be interesting. I guess we'll see what it holds.
