Ups and downs
Jun. 20th, 2006 10:41 amThings have been kind of interesting the last week or so. It seemed like last week couldn't go by more slowly - not for any particular reason; it just seemed to take forever (and left me in a grouchy mood for much of it as a result). This week is going better, but yesterday I was feeling kind of sleepy for no particular reason - not uncomfortably so, but just "can't seem to wake up" past the usual 10:00 hour. This continued until roundabout 3:00, at which point I started to feel pretty utterly crappy. Fortunately Wade said I could go home early, so I went home, threw up, took a shower, and went to sleep for four hours with a pounding headache. Upon waking at 7:00 or so, I felt just fine, was able to go over to Chris and Jeanne's for the evening as planned, and today I feel just fine. Strange...though I have to say that if I have to get sick, I prefer the four-hour bug to the lingering infections I seem prone to lately.
Interesting things have also been happening with our theatre plans. The TV, which was supposed to be here tomorrow, got the wrong paperwork attached and is currently sitting on a dock in Pennsylvania. The woman who called me about it was very apologetic, and said that she'd call me at the end of the week with another delivery date estimate. The speakers, however, which supposedly weren't due for another week, have apparently shown up on our doorstep - and to make things even weirder, Brian got another email with a different tracking number from the same people, that says the package (whatever might be in it) is currently in Anchorage. Maybe they were having a buy-1-get-1-free sale? Personally, so long as they don't try to charge my card again, I'm not too worried - if we end up with two sets, we can either find a use for or sell the other ones. The delay on the TV doesn't bug me too much (I guess living in Barrow I just got used to them), but Brian's pretty PO'd about it - not that I blame him, considering he paid them almost $500 for shipping.
On the plus side, the receiver got here, and does an absolutely awesome job. I especially like the iPod integration feature - it literally takes the entire interface from the iPod and puts it up on the receiver's screen as well as the TV screen if you have one connected.
Report on speakers forthcoming once we've had a chance to play with them.
