Still in Sitka

missroseroseThe flight I was taking out of here this evening was cancelled due to "mechanical trouble". Back in Barrow, this would've been code for "Another flight with more people waiting had mechanical trouble and we borrowed your plane", but I think here it was just a case of something going "boing" that they weren't able to fix right away. Ah well.
Fortunately, AK Air put me up in the same hotel I was in last night, so I get a fairly nice room with a comfy (albeit slightly firm) bed. Also, the sun has been coming out in brief spurts, and I have to say that Sitka is even prettier when not socked in with fog. There are certainly worse places to be stuck for a night.
Still, though, I'm glad I'm going home on the early flight tomorrow (even if I do have to be up at 4 AM to catch it). I can't wait to be home with my Brian and my kitties...
