"...I'm brave but I'm chicken shit..."
Jan. 23rd, 2004 11:36 amWell, my paid account expires in a couple of days. I haven't yet decided whether to shell out for another couple of months, especially since I haven't really used the icons I've made as much as I'd have liked to, but I might get creative and end up making a whole new batch that I'll want to try. Ah, well.
The weather here has been hanging around the upper thirties over the past few days, which has been quite nice - of course, it's also been raining rather a lot, but that's Juneau for you. On the plus side, the rain is actually encouraging the grass to grow again, so I've seen more than a few places with semi-green lawns. Ah, false spring...of course, the temperature is supposed to dip down to 12 degrees on Sunday, so it probably won't last. But it's nice to enjoy while it's here.
I'm currently doing some housekeeping for Ian's boss while her husband is out of town; basically that means I sleep on her couch-bed, cook dinner for her every night, keep the kitchen (and, I assume, bathroom) clean, and occasionally run errands for her while she runs the gallery and does her glasswork. For this I get paid $16 a day. It's not such a bad arrangement, but I'm finding it a bit stressful on top of my busier-than-usual school schedule and work and homework and such. I'll have to deal with it, though, and it's only until February 3rd (slightly less than two weeks). And I'm sure I'll be able to use the money.
The Butterfly Effect is out at the theater downtown. Maybe I'll go and see it tonight, assuming I can convince someone to go with me. Hell, maybe I'll go and see it alone. Imagine that. =)
And so ends this totally pointless update on my life. I did get an idea for a short story this morning, however, which is definitely good, considering I need to have one written by Tuesday. Maybe I'll go work on fleshing that out...
