I feel cheated...
Apr. 24th, 2006 08:02 pmAlong about 4:00 this afternoon, I was seized by a craving for a Klondike bar. In a way it was a childhood-nostalgia thing, even though I only ever had one or two over the course of my childhood; however, the fact that I hadn't had one since my childhood seems to mean it qualifies. Anyway, after work I went to the store and purchased a 6-pack of Klondike bars (after momentarily choking at the price - since when does it cost more than $6 for that little ice cream?) With great anticipation, I hurried home and opened the first one.
To say I was disappointed is an understatement of epic proportions. The vanilla ice cream was generic bland fake-vanilla ice cream (which was at least what I expected, if not hoped for), but the chocolate coating tasted wrong - like it was trying very hard to be a chocolate coating and failing abysmally. Further examination of the wrapper provided an explanation - it was "Milk Chocolate Flavored Coating", not the same thing at all. I didn't even bother finishing the bar.
I guess some things just taste better when you're a kid, is all...I only wish I hadn't spent $6.57 plus tax to find this out. :S
