Dexter
Cuteness: Above average
Cuddliness: Average
Playfulness: Above Average
Dexter is a well-rounded cat that we can recommend for a wide variety of households. Short hair in a black and white "tuxedo" pattern is aesthetically pleasing and takes very little care on the part of his owner. He exhibits a good balance of feline traits, including a tendency toward independence (though he can be very demanding when it comes to attention, as well). Playfulness is above average for a feline, as he loves to chase feather toys and laser pointers; aggressiveness is well below accepted levels, and generally only manifests itself if you try to scratch his lower belly.
Mr. Jerry Brown
Cuteness: Excellent
Cuddliness: Excellent
Playfulness: Below Average
Mr. Jerry Brown is the ultimate in affluent kitty models. His luxuriantly long cinnamon-colored mane and coat takes a surprisingly small amount of grooming (though regular combing during shedding season is a must). He exhibits very few of the oft-displeasing aspects of felinity (independence, aggression, etc.) and prefers a laid-back lifestyle of sleeping on your lap to racing about the house. While he exhibits very few playful tendencies other than to occasionally bat at a wayward piece of string, this is more than balanced by his pleasing and often-used (if very loud) purr. Aggressiveness is virtually nonexistent; however, his long coat, high-maintenance attention needs, and preference for soft food may not make him the best fit for every household.
(Note from author - no, the kitties are not going to be put up for sale or otherwise finding new homes. I'd simply been reading so many of the Consumer Reports car reviews that when I was petting Dexter while half asleep an hour ago, I found myself mentally composing a "review" for him. Or maybe it was all just an excuse to use the phrase "ultimate in affluent kitty models". =)
