More trouble, though fortunately not of the smelly variety; Dexter has apparently decided that the guest has overstayed his welcome and needs to go home now. Unfortunate, considering that this *is* Mr. Jerry Brown's home, now. I guess this hasn't sunk in yet through his thick skull. *sigh*

In any case, I separated the two of them for today while at work. Mr. Jerry Brown I put in the second bedroom, which he seems to like well enough (he especially enjoys lying on all the fabric in my suitcase full of it; I got some very cute pictures of him last night that I'll have to post soon), and let Dexter have the bulk of the house to himself again. When I went home at lunch to check on him he seemed much happier - he even purred a bit when I picked him up, something he hasn't done since we brought Mr. Jerry Brown home. Mr. Jerry Brown, for his part, seemed pretty happy. He's a pretty easygoing cat, and he didn't mind the confinement too much.

Anyway, I let them play together a bit in the second bedroom while I was there, then separated them again. I think I'm going to keep doing this during the day for the next week or so, and maybe switch them and keep Dexter in the second bedroom afterward - it seems to be less stressful for them, and hopefully it'll allow them to get used to each other's scents in a less threatening environment. They can both run around the house when I'm home.

In other news, if there's anyone on my friendlist who hasn't yet seen Serenity and enjoys a good space opera/sci-fi romp, Universal Pictures has apparently released the first nine minutes for viewing online. I haven't seen it yet (my work computer doesn't seem to like whatever player it's using), but I can tell you that although it's an intriguing nine minutes, it's much more impressive on the big screen. So go see Serenity, dammit. Word is that the box office numbers this weekend will determine the fate of the sequel, and if they're making sequels of Scooby-Doo, we should be able to pull enough money to get some more from the Firefly characters.

Anyway, if you're one of those people who insists on the "Try before you buy" scenario, here's the link:

Everyone keep their fingers crossed...
