Interview went well enough, but then, I've never had a bad interview - helps that I'm personable and easy to talk to. I'm not sure exactly when they'll be getting back to me, so I guess I'll just keep checking my email in apprehension that Danél's sent me the "Sorry, we didn't hire you" email. (Or I'll go play outside. That'd probably be more fun.) I really have no clue whether or not I'm going to get the job - I'm fairly qualified, and I've worked there a couple of years, which helps, but I'm probably a bit on the young side (Danél's in his mid-to-late twenties, as was Lori, whose position I'd be filling) and then there's the whole intensive-personality factor. So it mostly seems to be a "We'll see" all around...

In other news, Brian and I have found an apartment we both really like. It's largish - two nice-sized bedrooms, a decent-sized living room and a HUGE (for an apartment) bathroom, and there are lots of windows to let in light. The landlord is a nice (if somewhat intense) youngish Russian lady; she showed us around and gave us the application, so we filled it out and included the requisite forms (credit histories, reference letters, etc.). She seemed to like us well enough, and we assured her that we're not partiers or smokers or otherwise annoying tenants. The only sticking point seemed to be Satchi - Brian's poodle, in case I haven't mentioned before. Brian's mother can't take her (she's moving to a no-pets condo in Washington) and his brother's going to be at UAA, so we pretty much have to take her or else she gets put down. She's a fairly large dog (80 lbs), and while she's extremely well-behaved, she does tend to put off prospective landlords - nobody likes to listen to a dog's continual barking. (She's not really the sort to bark a lot, though she does sometimes during the day when she thinks she's alone - poodles are very social.) But she (the landlady, not the poodle) said she may be willing to try it for a couple of months, and Brian's thinking about getting her some doggie-Valium for the day when we're not there. (Note: I'm not really in favor of drugging her, but if it's between that and her not having a place to live, it's kind of the lesser of two evils.) Another possible option would be paying someone we know with a house to keep her during the day so that her barking doesn't bother anyone...though if it comes to that, I'm going to start referring to her as my daughter. =P

Anyway, Olena (the landlady) seemed to like us well enough (aside from the whole Satchi issue), and she said she'd call us back in a couple of days about the application. I'd like to think she's decided to give us the apartment pending a reference check, but given how saturated the market is here in Juneau, I'm not going to count on anything just yet...

So, as the title suggests, it's all pretty much come down to the waiting game. I just hope my fingers don't get kinks from being crossed for days on end...
