I like your rambling! I think I too, like you, benefit from happening to conform to stereotypes (and from my coping mechanisms of concealment/aloofness). The current (as in, the past few years) discussions on privilege have *really* opened my eyes in lots of ways, and I'm grateful for that. You never do stop learning--there's always stuff to learn (thank goodness).
